EAST LIVERPOOL - Members of the East Liverpool Police Department have launched an investigation after a dead body was discovered at the East Liverpool Motor Lodge.

"We are looking into the matter and trying to determine if any foul play was involved," Chief Mike McVay said.

Officers were called to the scene at 1:28 p.m. Tuesday. The body was discovered inside one of the rooms at the motor lodge.

McVay said the name of the deceased male was not being released until the investigation furthers and did not rule out it being drug related.

Officers have discovered the identities of several people seen with the victim the night before.

The chief said several interviews have been conducted, and several more interviews were scheduled for today.
