NEW CUMBERLAND - A Pittsburgh family believes the body discovered last Friday in the New Cumberland Locks and Dam may be that of a missing high school student.

According to media accounts, Joseph Harris Jr., 17, a student at Pittsburgh's Schenley High School, was last seen in November. He reportedly boarded a bus Nov. 14 in downtown Pittsburgh.

The Hancock County Sheriff's Office did not issue any additional information Wednesday, a day after the description of the body was released, but Sheriff Mike White did tell one media outlet his department was following leads based on the information from the Pittsburgh family.

Further testing and examination by the West Virginia Medical Examiner's Office in Charleston is needed, the sheriff's office said Tuesday, before the body can be identified or cause of death determined.
