The Ohio Attorney General's Crime Victims Compensation Fund reimburses eligible victims of crime and their family members for medical and counseling expenses, lost wages and certain other costs. Last year, the Crime Victims Assistance & Prevention Section approved 4,597 claims. Nearly $10.7 million was awarded to victims of crime, or an average of $2,324 per award.
The online application for those seeking compensation was recently streamlined at www.OhioAttorneyGeneral.gov/VictimsCompensationForm.
