Wow! That was fast!!!

Anyone that knows me will tell you how haunted I am about the murder of a child. Any child.
I am so glad that this has been dealt with swiftly.
Christopher's family can now have some sense of peace knowing that this monster is going to be tried for his death. Too bad the death penalty does'nt work quickly. Hopefully, the outcome will be justice for this poor little boy and his family!!

STEUBENVILLE - Joseph K. Moran, 25, was charged with murder Wednesday in connection with the beating death of an 18-month-old boy early Monday morning at a Richmond home.

Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla said the Cuyahoga County coroner's office determined after an autopsy that Christopher Joy Jr. died as a result of multiple blunt impacts to the head resulting in brain injury.

Abdalla said he will continue working with the Cuyahoga County coroner's office to determine if the child was struck with a hand and/or another object.

"We have ideas what was used besides the hands," the sheriff said.

Abdalla said the boy's mother, Mollie Beck, had been living with Moran since January. The sheriff said the child's mother had left around 11 p.m. Sunday to go to work. The Richmond Fire and Rescue Squad was notified around 2:30 a.m. Monday that the child wasn't breathing. The boy was pronounced dead at Trinity Medical Center West.

Abdalla said the Joy family said they noticed bruising on the child at different times. The family claims county children services was contacted. The family also said the children services agency didn't check on the claims. Abdalla said the sheriff's office was never notified about calls made to children services.

Elizabeth Ferron, Jefferson County Job and Family Services director, said the agency has no comment at this time.

The sheriff noted the boy's mother and grandmother said at the hospital that the child had recently fallen and struck his head on a toy. But, when shown her son's body, the mother said the heavy bruising on his face wasn't there when she went to work Sunday night, Abdalla said.

Yes that was fast! Mayabe it is because it did not happen is Columbiana County and Perhaps the mother didnt sit back and pretend that she didnt know what was going on. She probably was NOT trying to cover anything up unlike the Dalton Springer case. Jefferson County gets kudos for taking care of things so swiftly and doing their JOB!!

RIP
Baby Joy

This arrest never would have occurred if the murder would have happened here in Columbiana County mainly because the pigs and prosecutors in this county are lazy.

Again, kudos to Jefferson County authorities. Now if only Columbiana County could find authorities like the one's running Jefferson County this blog might just might not be needed someday.

RIP Columbiana County Victims of Homicide!

I hope justice for Christopher JR, he was such a cute baby. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I thought you said this guy was released? Why does this say he is in jail?

He was released because the county was waiting for evidence to come from the lab and his right to a speedy trial would have been violated so he was released on bond and within an hour, he took off with Christopher's mother.

I am sorry, but I think certain cases set presidence and the person's right to a fair and speedy trial should also depend upon what they are going on trial for. I think the law should be amended to allow in certain cases as this one, a child mind you, to allow the prosecuter to collect the evedince he/she needs for a conviction. Either that or in , say, cases as this one, skip the trial and do eye for an eye or firing squad. I do apologize for posting something of this content on a poor child's site.

This is infuriating! You don't know all the facts. All you know is what is shown on tv. You don't know the details of that night. So please stop pointing fingers at this innocent man. The quote is true, "Whoever controls the media, controls the mind." People believe everthing they hear instead of getting ALL the facts. And by the time you do get the right story, you alread have your mind made up about what happened.

For one if the coroner is telling Fred abadalla that the autopsy shows that he died from blood force trauma to the head. The mother said he didn't have all that heavy bruising on his face when she left to go to work. He was in the guys custody when this happened. If he is so innocent would you mind telling me what the hell happened to this little boy since you seem to think you know so damn much.

has anything new been found in this case?

Why are the cases of these murdered babies being dropped? Why did both mother's stay with the men who seems to be responsible for the murder of their children? At the time of the murders both babies were left alone with the men yet neither one of them are in prison. I just don't understand this.

You said he took off with the baby's mother. Is that the latest? They left town?

I do not know Kyle but I do not believe he murdered Little Chris. I know the Joy family personally and they indeed believe he did it. But being so close to the case I was able to observe everything surrounding the case. I believe the grandmother (main witness) may have did it. If you recall the paper said she was caring for baby Chris and had taken him home to put him to bed. The mother's boyfriend heard him crying and got up to get him a bottle. Anyway they were getting there case together when the grandmother cut her own wrist and died. I believe she could not live with the guilt. This is just an opinion. I am not by any means judging anyone. Jefferson Co. should really come forward and tell the families what they know to be true or believe at least. The sheriff was friends with Mollies family so maybe he wouldn't want to put anyone in the spot light but they know... as with all these unsolved cases they know.. Why do you think almost known , if any are ever closed.?

Happy Thanksgiving Baby Chris! I hope you have a wonder celebration up in Heaven!

Is he still in jail for this? Did they find out for sure he was the one? I saw someone posting on here about the grandma killing herself and her doing it.
